Hint:Dahilabro Sword
The Dahilabro is one of the more underrated swords in the game. Against slower and hardier enemies like the big red dragon-looking fiends, and in combination with wind roll for maneuvering, it is excellent. I
played the part where you can choose to fight a whole lot of fiends(in the platform puzzle area where you first fight Doku) and this time didn't even get on the platform. I just waited at a distance of a least 15 "feet" where they wouldn't be able to grab, chomp, slash, or tailwhip
me, with my guard button pressed(so I could wind roll immediately), and waited for them to do their charge. When they charged, I just wind rolled to one side and, turning around quickly, attacked in the direction of their backside with the XXXXY combo. Even if the first couple of blows don't hit them you will take a massive amount of damage off of them. This combo works well once you get it started, even against slightly faster enemies. It also works against the fire and ice
dragon fiends in the Caverns. I also used the Dark Dragon Blade against Alma reborn-after getting it on the second floor in Muramasa's shop in the village in Ch 13 on successive play-and it totally tore her up. I didn't even have to use an elixir or anything else but the blade. I
just did XXY repeatedly up pretty close and she couldn't do anything while I whooped on her. I believe the Dahilabro could be used against her with pretty good efficacy, though I haven't tried it yet, as they seem pretty similar to me. Also, if you get grabbed in their mouth, or
in any long, protracted manner (like by the ghost fish), just tap the buttons like X and A very quickly and they will let go sooner and do less damage.
