Hint:While guarding start a wind roll
A lot of people may not know that, while guarding(left trigger held down), you can start a wind roll, jump after you begin the wind roll, and do an off the wall or up the wall attack or any other jumping attack you would normally be able to do only after releasing guard, all while continuing to have the left trigger pressed. You can, without the use of counter attacks, kill off quite a few baddies without ever releasing
guard in this way. You will be very slightly vulnerable as you start the wind roll, but once you get in the air it is just like a regular jump, and once you land(with L trig still held), you go right back into guard. Also, if you start holding the Y button right (like 8 "inches" or less) before your feet touch the ground from your jump, you will charge up an extinction slash and can take some heads off from behind(if you jumped over them or did a flying swallow thru them). Using this wind roll jump against the helicopter can greatly reduce your contact with the missiles. You can even absorb essence (once you reach a safe distance via the wind roll jump away from your enemies, start the charging immediately before touching down) and, once the enemy again
approaches you, unload a super attack on them. If they have a gun, however they can knock you out of the charge if you give them time to shoot you, since you are out of guard while charging(holding down Y).
