Customize and play characters
When you start out in the cantina, go over to the “kolto” tanks and customize a character. Now go to a episode you have unlocked free play on. Now, when you go to the character screen, you will see 2 black figures on the bottom right corner. Now when you look at the name, you will see your customized characters name. Even more, press A when you are at one of the black figures, and you will play whatever your customized character was like in free play, if your character had a lightsaber, your character would still have it as a weapon, and also be able to use the force, even if your character was not able to use the force in the Trilogy (movies), or in the story part of the episodes, in free play the character can.
